TODAY IS ELECTION DAY IN MAINE TOWNSHIP:
Dear Maine Township Republicans,
TODAY marks Election Day for our local community. And it couldn't have come at a better time.
This election determines your property taxes, school board priorities, crime policies, infrastructure and a litany of essential services.
We've spoken with thousands of voters during this election cycle. The one central theme? It's time for a change.
In the recent Park Ridge Mayoral debate, incumbent Mayor Marty Maloney said that Park Ridge hasn't seen a property tax increase in 5 years. His message fell flat given the significant property tax increases most residents have seen in recent years. Some residents have seen increases as high as 40%. Further, Maloney isn't concerned with increasing crime whatsoever, blaming a spike in arrests on rookie cops who are "more aggressive." Seriously? This is classic leftist gaslighting. Sadly, these tactics are not a surprise given the significant support Maloney has had from local, progressive voices, let alone the substantial support he's received from the radical leftist organization "Act Blue."
Park Ridge City Clerk, Sal Raspanti, is our pick for Mayor. Raspanti has spent 40 years in public service, on top of a successful business career. His honest voice is what's needed during a climate of increasingly confusing communication from the incumbent Mayor's office. Through a series of videos, Raspanti has clearly vocalized that he will be tough on crime, while promoting economic development to help reduce property taxes. Raspanti is the steady, consistent leader needed in this time of increasing uncertainty.
In a recent poll by NBC news, the Democrat party’s national approval rating has plummeted to only 27%. Hopefully, voters follow suit and choose the sensible, family values of the more conservative candidates in this local election.
The race for Maine Township board is littered with Democrat incumbents. Currently, the Maine Township board is taking credit for a $2 million tax refund that was allegedly paid back to taxpayers. Have your property tax dollars declined or increased over the last four years? Simply put: none of this makes any sense! The Maine Township budget is faced with increasing healthcare costs for its own employees, while the board has refused to go to a zero-based budget to avoid redundancies from other local government oversight.
Voting for the GOP slate of Bodo Jokic for Highway Commissioner, and Dave Butterfield, Frank Roberto and Altaf Bukhari for Trustees will usher in a fresh perspective. All four are committed to financial responsibility and a common sense approach to governance. They are dedicated family men and successful business leaders. None are the political insiders which identify as their opposition.
Two levels of government: both with leftist incumbents saying your taxes are declining when they're spiking. How's that possible? Part of the answer is in the skyrocketing school district budget. Two years ago, JB Pritzker personally funded local school board elections in Park Ridge. The insurgence of gender politics in grade school and high school classrooms has never been more prominent. Please vote for Phyllis Lubinski and Demetri Touzios for D64 School Board.
Other picks for Tuesday's election are Mike Lupo for Park Ridge City Clerk and Carly Brookman for Des Plaines City Clerk. We also endorse Kelly Muno for Park Ridge 4th Ward Alderperson and Joseph Iacullo for Park Ridge 6th Ward Alderperson.
Now is the time to take action. If we can't win back these seats, Democrat policies will continue to rule. Taxes will continue to escalate, crime will continue to be ignored, and our community will provide less of a reason for our children to live here when they've got a family of their own.
